Syncing non-Windoiws tablet with PC

I am planning to buy a reconditioned tablet in the sales.
I use a Windows desktop PC for all my computing atm. While I mean to carry on using the PC as my main work machine, I am looking to use the tablet after-hours, i.e. for leisure and internet shopping.
Not much in the way of writing documents or e-mails - manly web browsing. I envisage.
However, I may still want to sync devices. How complex is this if I am using different platforms? Presumably, I would need a service like Dropbox?

If you're not going to use the tablet for work purposes and you want to keep everything separate as it should be (ie only deal with work stuff during working hours, I presume from your wording you work at home?), then why do you need to sync the devices?
Easiest solution to sync common data is something like Dropbox or maybe Google Drive, but bear in mind if you have shedloads of stuff in your Dropbox folder on your Windows PC, the tablet probably won't have anywhere near as much room...0 -

onedrive only downloads a file when you use it on tablet so will take up a lot less space on tablet/phone unless you use all files stored.
if you use chrome on pc/phone/tablet you can sync bookmarks/contacts/calendars/emails with all devices"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
