Where do you recommend buying a laptop from?

Hi guys, I need some advice on where best to buy a new laptop from, and I thought where better to ask than here!
My wife needs a new laptop capable of running Second Life and some games etc. I know gaming laptops can be very expensive though. We'd like to spend under a £1000 if possible.
But where is the right place to buy from?
We want to go shopping tomorrow. PC World seems to overprice everything? Staples is an alternative. Where else is there?
thanks

£1000 is a lot of money but high spec laptops are very expensive and you can easily spend more than that.
Shop online to find the best deals.
eBuyer is decent for components..never bought laptop from them but they usually offer decent prices.
Dell often have great online deals (they also sell 'refurbished' items heavily discounted)
You should look for at minimum SSD drive, i7 processor, 16g ram, long battery life, high speed graphics card, (etc, etc)
Its worth considering purchasing aftercare/insurance or at minimum long warranty. The components in this sort of device will be expensive to repair/replace should they breakdown.
John Lewis/Costco are quite generous with their warranty.
a list of high spec laptops
All the best, hope you find a good deal..maybe wait till boxing day /new years for some offers0 -
A dedicated GPU is recommended - https://secondlife.com/support/system-requirements/0

Avoid Ebuyer if you can, especially for something expensive. If there are any problems with it you will have a nightmare trying to get them to sort it out.0

Never had any issues when buying componets from them usually good quality but never had to return anything to them, so thats a good point !0 -
