Parking ticket by Euro Car Park

Hello everyone,

I read the newbie thread from scratch to the end but I could not find the right answer for my situation:

I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus demanding to pay £145 after a PCN was issued to me for having the car in a Morrisons car park for more than 2 hours. Now the issue is that the PCN was issued on 8th October and I was made aware of it yesterday 20th December when I received this letter.

The problem is that the Manager from Morrisons car park said that the fine is £45 usually and the £145 I am asked to pay is a charge on top of that added by debt collectors. Is it fair to be made aware of this after 2 months when they miraculously found my address with no knowledge of any PCN beforehand or any proof so I can see and just asked to pay £145?

Any help would be much appreciated and many thanks for your help

Regards,
Florin

Irrespective of how much the debt collectors want Morrison should cancel this for you.

    Complain to the CEO.

If you have read the newbies FAQ thread then you know to ignore debt collectors

You also will have seen never to reveal who was driving.

You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving

as above , complain to the Morrissons CEO David Potts direct and get it cancelled

genuine customers should not have to put up with this cr*p and that is what you tell them , preferably with proof of patronage

IGNORE those sc@mmers drp , they are powerless

also, make sure your driving licence and V5C have your current address on them , update if necessary
  • Thank you for answering so fast!

I did try to email the CEO but I keep getting this message:

    "david.potts@morrisonsplc.co.uk
The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please check the e-mail address and try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator.

Do I have any chance to get it cancelled just because I did not get informed about a PCN until 2 months later when they found my actual address? Basically, even if I wanted to appeal I was not given the chance as I was not aware of any PCN being issued until it was too late as it was passed to debt collectors.

You don't want it cancelled because you didn't know about it - you want it cancelled because you were a genuine customer etc!!

there must be some reason why the paperwork went to an old address

if that is your fault for not updating the V5C and not having a postal redirect in place then you only have yourself to blame

BUT, it makes no difference if you get Morrissons to cancel the original ticket, its all white noise and irrelevant if you get the landowner to call off the dogs , be it 2 days later , 2 months later , or 2 years later

    same as this thread

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5757092

try the other email addresses for Morrissons AS WELL, like their customer services one

perhaps the DAVID POTTS one has been changed ?

you seem to be using the wrong one because the one in the thread I linked is different

The problem is that the Manager from Morrisons car park said that the fine is £45 usually and the £145 I am asked to pay is a charge on top of that added by debt collectors.

That's not the problem. you are focussing on the wrong thing and believing you *have to* pay and worrying about it having 'gone up'. Truth is, you (we) would not have paid this if it was £45.

You need to complain about the fake fine itself. Not that it arrived late and has 'gone up' and you want to pay £45. No, you really don't. Wrong focus entirely! The fine is unacceptable, full stop.

Why is every newbie suddenly wanting to email David Potts instead of the DO NOT REPLY email that works? That email has been all over every Morrisons thread since 2015...and they cancel.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • My partner received a ticket for £50 , £85 if unpaid . And then a week later I received one for my car as both cars were parked after 6pm . The drivers thought this would be fine as thought It was free . Not saying if I was the driver or not . I did email a letter , as 1 my car is still registered to my old address and only received the letter Xmas day and was delivered over a week ago . So unsure where to go from here . My partner just pid the ticket and pretty much cried all day as it was her last 50 she saved for the kids presents . Any help or advice would be much appreciated

You need to first read the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum to understand the game you are in.

Then if you need further advice you must start your own thread and not hijack someone else's thread like this
  • Update: So having only a letter from Debt Recovery Plus regarding the outstanding balance of £145, I got a few days later pictures of my car in/out from Morrisons. I was way over the 3hours limit. I contacted Morrisons through Facebook and I emailed the no reply address and explained that my car might have been over the 3 hours limit and then played the card of a genuine customer (and I am one). I said that I live next to that Morrisons and I use it a few times a week and that day I used it for groceries. They came back to me today through email and Facebook (different people) and said that they ticket has been cancelled as they do not mind genuine customers being over the 3h limit.

I want to thank you all for helping me sort this out.

    Regards,

    Florin
