Fix now or in 6 months?

My energy fix with Scottish Power expires in June 2018. The best 2 year alternative fix I can sign up to now would be an extra £55 per year.

I'm sure you all read about that gas pipeline in Austria blowing up last week, which is supposed to have put the price of gas up alarmingly.

I am worried that if I leave switching to June, it may be many hundreds more than if I fix now. Anyone else thinking along those lines?

If you swap tariffs now, you will be paying a premium for every KWh you use for the next 7 months
Nobody knows for certain where prices will be 2 years time, but you can be sure that SP have set prices that cover their tail.

Best to let the present tariff run and search whole the market just before it ends
