Question about registration (energy company worker's help needed here)

Thanks for the encouragement Terrylw1. I called up British Gas this afternoon, explained that whilst we were happy with how our original complaint was resolved, we were concerned that it had cost us extra in telephone costs to rectify this. A £20 credit was put onto our account towards our final bill (when it is generated). As you said, nothing ventured nothing gained.

It's my experience that utilities give the £20 quite easily now. Years ago they would fight tooth & nail to make it hard to get anything (I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen a customer get told to bog off for wanting money for their calls when they have been met with constant incompetance!)

However, now with Energywatch keeping a closer eye on them, they seem much more open to stop you complaining about them.

Everyone needs to remember that EW compile league tables of utilities so if £20 keeps you off the tables - investment from them really.
