I've never heard of them and personally I would carry on ignoring them
What we see depends mainly on what we look for

I'm not daft, YOU GET NOTHING FOR NOTHING IN THIS WORLD.
Do these people think we are stupid.
The letters i get all say 'FINAL REMINDER'. It looks like i owe money so the first few i tossed in the bin, after about a dozen letters. I got so p####d off I thought i'd look it up on the net, there is no company,,,
Well in this day and age every company has a web site, Christ, even I've got a web site, and i'm a no-body..
Is there any way that I can stop these letters from coming to me,(Without paying the Post Office to hold them).?
Or is there any way that I can find out who the guy is?
I'm Ex-Army and I'm sure if I came face to face with this person, He wouldn't be able to send any more letters to anyone, (If you know what I mean)

greg, you should rip up all the letters they send you and post them back to them, its even better when they provide you with an envelope! i do it all the time to letters about loans, im sure they would get fed up with opening letters full off small pieces of paper if everyone did it :rotfl:£608.98

I have just registered so that I can add something to the above. I got my first 'award notification' with my Ambrose Wilson account through the post, and did not therefore recognise it as a scam. But I did not respond for ages and got lots of reminders, until I did eventually phone. Now I have a letter asking for £14.95 for insurance and delivery of my prize which was a holiday for two? The letter is very authentic looking and I will admit it is now the second time I have been scammedthamespirate wrote: »hi everyone has anyone come across these people ? they keep writeing to me saying i have won a prize ? i just have to call a 09061 number , only £1.50p a minute they are persistant i have been ignoring them but i keep getting reminders from them , i can send an self addressed envelope to get my claim number . i do not recall ever entering a comp with these so should i just carry on ignoring them or are the genuine ? yours greg.

Greetings,
Yes, as tokra says "you get nothing for nothing in this world"
The whole principle of this scam is misleading and the government should have some laws in place to prevent the vulnerable being used. But people are being duped time and time again.
I used to save the envelopes up and papers and send them back, we don't bother now.0 -
I keep getting the same scam letters from some bunch of chancers called National Allocations Office, same old nonesense - (commitment 1) an extortionately priced phone call to find that you have won a holiday. Then you'll get the (commitment 2) invoice for the 'insurance'. After this is paid you'll find that the holiday starts in 2 days time, usually midweek and from a ferry port that's 250 miles from where you live. Obviously it would be difficult/impossible to organise yourself at such short notice so you decline the holiday and then get billed for the holiday because it was wasted (the sucker punch).
The scam works on a trickle of ever increasing financial commitments (by yourself) until ther point when you realise that you have to pull out and then when you do - Wham - you get the big invoice because the company needs compensating for a holiday that it has paid for in order to pass it on to you. They don't even pay for the holidays that are declined by the dumba**es that get that far, they just have an option on unbooked berths/hotels from cruise/holiday companies.0
