If you want to stop unrequired mail try the mail preference service online - you'll have to google it as I can't post a link but they can stop a lot of junk coming your way!0

Hi I to have received that stupid letter, what I have done is write to Carol Brown and inform her that seeing as I have won a prize once they send it to me I will gladly recompence them for their out of pocket expences (max £14.95). I have not put a stamp on one of 2 replies to see if they collect and pay the fee. Even if they don't the one they get will take up time intheir office. Worth 30p0

I received a letter from them today which was promptly binned. The first time I heard from them I actually rang the number, thinking that at the very least I had won a digital camera which turned out to be the case but when I received a letter from them the camera was only 500 pixel, no display, no memory storage. I had a camera similar to this years ago but it wouldn't even be good enough for a web cam!0

I have become completely fed up with these letters - having received 2 in the last 3 weeks - so I contacted Consumer Direct - part of the Office of Fair Trading on 08454 040506. I am told that data is being compiled for these letters and that Trading Standards Officers are investigating complaints registered by consumers. So if you want to add your data to the list, forward your letters to your local Trading Standards Office and they will be included in the compiled data.0

Award Winners Exchange, Strike Lucky Games Ltd, The Winners Club Ltd and a couple of others which I can't remember are all come from McIntyre & Dodd Marketing Ltd who are based in Ross-on Wye. It is a scam although if you write to them asking what prize you have won before accepting it, they will tell you and it is always the 'Free Holiday'!
They usually offer about 10,000 of these and they cost the company virtually nothing. They are not entirely free and you still have to pay a lot towards it in the end! Usually just the very basic accomodation and you have to bear all travel costs etc.. Need I say more?
Send all letters to Trading Standards and hope they will eventually be able to stop all this.0 -
Right just had a laughing fit - cut out all of our details and wrote in permanent black exactly what I thought of them!!! (make it up your self) - then chopped it up and am sending it back without a stamp....
We also take great delight in sending double glazing people info on loans, pizza to double glazing, loft insulation to pizza etc etc - so they are all recieving someones junk and paying for it!
We are on the mail and phone peference services (both work well) but the clever bu*%ers have got around that by going direct to Royal Mail and 'booking' a leaflet drop - so Royal Mail in their greed needs to suffer as well!!!
Cheers Mat0
