Please people do not worry yourself about my Mac. The situation is we have Firesticks in all the bedrooms to the TV and often when in the bedroom we watch You Tube via the stick. Now as many of you may know this will be stopping via the stick on the 1st January because of a dispute with Google.

However now Amazon have given up access to the world wide web I can access You Tube that way instead. So basically this is what I am really interested in.

I then thought provided it was safe I could always access my bank account and thats why I asked about anti virus software. However as one contributor has already said this will be necessary.

Sorry should have read anti virus software is not necessary.

Thanks to everyone for the interest shown in my dilemma.
  • Oh yes, I'd forgotten that the Youtube app was going to disappear on Fire TV.

Wonder if it's just coincidence that they've now officially allowed and are actively promoting browser apps? :D

I tried the new Firefox app for fire stick recently. Difficult to use even with the remote control phone app. It failed to stream a full screen video and seemed to make other apps unstable. Uninstalled it again.

Meanwhile Amazon has suddenly agreed to sell Google devices again so the threat to YouTube may be lifted.
