Faulty washing machine @ xmas

Hi guys
Our washing machine decided to play up just a few days before xmas. For the past 2 days whenever it does a final spin, whether during a wash cycle or just a spin cycle, it is not emptying/rinsing water out properly & then takes absolute ages to complete the cycle & release door lock! Is it a timer issue or something else? If so, is it reparable at a reasonable cost or should we just buy a new one altogether?
It is a russell hobbs rh 1260tw model if that's of any use.
Many thanks in advance for any useful advice.

If it has the filter accessible from the front, I tilt the machine back so I can get a large towel and pot underneath it, just incase.0

I suspect the pump is on the way out. Had something similar on an old machine of mine. If you’re feeling handy, unplug it, pull the machine out and have a look for the pump. With a bit of DIY you can take it off and see if there’s anything wrong with it (such as a blocked inlet/outlet) and check the drain hose for kinks or obstructions while you’re at it. If there’s nothing obviously wrong, give the pump a clout and refit it. I was able to get a dying pump to work for a few more days this way until my new machine arrived. Hopefully you can do the same or handwash until you can pick up a machine in the sales.0

Have you tried cleaning the outlet hose? This can get clogged with slimy stuff and will cause what you are describing, I do mine aout once a year.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Does it pump out into a standpipe or is it connected under the sink?
If it goes into a standpipe then the blockage is in the machines hose or pump. If you're handy they come apart quite easily, turn the power off.
If the waste is plumbed in under the sink then there could be a blockage there. Usually it all comes apart quite easily to clean it out.
Peachyprice, if you have to clean your hose out every year I would recommend a better detergent.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
