Can I make back-and-forth balance transfers?

I have two credit cards, each with a limit of £5000. I owe more or less £3000 on each. I'm just about to transfer £1500 from Card A to Card B, with a small transfer fee. Transfer fee aside, that will leave me owing £1500 on A and £4500 on B. Assuming the provider of Card A has a transfer offer available to me, can I transfer say £2500 from B to A, leaving me (interest and fees aside) owing £4000 on A and £2000 on B? Would that leave me with £4000 interest-free for however many months the transfer deal is applicable? Both card providers use monthly payments to pay off highest interest amounts first

And if that works, can I repeat the same in a few weeks? Assuming of course the providers will offer me more transfer deals? With the intention of eventually getting the major part of the debt interest free for a few months, so the amount owed decreases more quickly?

Or is this something card providers are unwilling to do?

That will work. Card providers wont mind.

Have you considered applying for another card? That would provide a more straightforward method and you could get a longer 0% period than your way.

An eligibility checker would give you an indication if you were likely to get accepted.

What balance transfer fees will you be charged if you go ahead?
Might be cheaper to get one new card if you are eligible.
