What did you buy? Samsung Washer/Dryer WD906U4SAGD
When did you buy it? 16th July 2015
Where from? (internet or in store - it DOES make a difference) Internet, AO.com
How did you pay? (cash/cheque/debit card/credit card etc) credit card
What went wrong? Won't drain
What are the vendors telling you? Samsung said it is out of warranty and gave me the contact details for a Samsung authorised repairer. I appreciate Samsung are not the vendor.
What solution or remedy are you looking for? (Companies may Repair / Refund / Replace) Repair, preferably before I run out of clean clothes
I am getting a 5E error code on the machine which tells me it won't drain. I have checked the debris filter and waste hose and both appear to be fine to me. I spoke with a repair technician this morning (not the one Samsung recommended) and he said it was likely the pump and will cost circa £75. Shouldn't a pump last for more than 2.5 years? I live alone so I'm not doing an excessive amount of laundry.
Is AO.com my next port of call?

AO.com should've been your first port of call but it's unlikely they'll do anything unless you can prove, via getting an engineers report, showing the fault is inherent to manufacture, rather than excessive wear & tear or misuse. What sort of warranty did this machine come with?0
-
Just the manufactuer’s 2 year warranty I think although the digital inventor has a 10 year manufacturer warranty.0
-
Did the technician indicate the likelihood (or otherwise) of it being an inherent fault? That would be very useful if they did.0

July 2015 would come under SOGA.0

He hasn’t actually seen it yet. He asked for the make and model and when I said “It’s a Samsung washer dryer,” he said, “it’s provably the pump.” He’s hopefully going to get out to me before the end of the week. This chap has good reviews online and is based in Aberdeen. Samsung’s recommended technician is based over 100 miles away in Inverness and has an average review score of 1.9 on Google based on 10 reviews.0 -

That’s what I was wondering and whether I could use a Section 75 because I bought it using my credit card. Then again it might be less hassle just to pay someone to fix it ASAP.0 -
The appliance technician has been out and it turns out the fault is not with the washing machine.
The fault was (in part) due to the way the washing machine had been installed and a ball of fluff that was stuck halfway down the waste outlet.
Thank to everyone who took the time to reply.0
