Warm Home Discount problems with BG

Hi

I did the collective switch with MSE and moved from BG but they have closed my account and say they cannot pay my WHD on a closed account (I am core group). Someone else from BG says I will get it next year. Has anyone else had this trouble?

Quite common to lose your whd if you change supplier during the application process.

If you are on guaranteed Pension credit and were with BG on 9.7.2017 you will be paid by them as long as the DWP have advised them. If you got a letter from the DWP you will be paid but it may be later as they will first pay those on supply with them. If you did not get a letter from the DWP you need to call them so they let BG know.

Agree with Jouful. If you get WHD in the Core Group, whoever was your supplier on 9.7.17 pays your WHD, even if you move after that date.

I did not get the letter but have informed the DWP and BG.

I was talking to an energy advisor yesterday and she says that she knows of a number of people who never got theirs because they switched during the latter months of the year. The energy companies are not paying up.
