And there is no place called the scott house in ruthin, ive emailed paramount media saying ive heard this is a scam can you prove me wrong and they replied to me saying we have got you a place after christmas on a film set in london and you dont have to pay no deposite and then we can get you more work, but i asked for a number so i can phone them and ive got no reply.. Charming
Hi there, there IS a Scott House in Ruthin, but it is a private residency (a group of apartments, I think). I have done loads of film/tv work, and applied for the extras position with P-M. From the first reply I got, my guard went up, and upon further correspondence with them, I'd say leave well alone. There are other pages on this site regarding Paramount Media, and all are in reference to scammers. It really is a shame that people try to take advantage of others like this
For anyone who wanted to get in on Extras work, don't let this put you off. There are plenty of freelance casting sites (like StarNow, Total Talent) through which you can get paid jobs in tv and film, and most top casting agencies (like MadDog, Guys&Dolls, Casting Collective) DO charge a sign up fee BUT they deduct it from your first wages with them. NEVER pay anything up front to anyone, and if something feels wrong to you, it probably is.0 -

Agreed.....The only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0 -
Has anyone heard of a company caled Scream Management? I heard of them through someone I know whose brother is signed with them... but they charge £95 for a professional photo to get on the books.
Just wondering if anyone's had any experience with them before I part with any cash?
Are they legit? I don't mind paying them if I will actually get work.0 -
Forget it. As said above, DON'T pay any upfront fees. There are plenty of agencies out there who charge nothing at all upfront, knowing they will get you work and then take comms from it, plus a reg fee (usually from your first or second job). In most cases the agency will take a couple of pics of you anyway for their books (free), or they will accept your own. They do not have to be pro pics when first applying, and by the time you need pro's, you will probably have enough money from jobs to be able to afford to choose who YOU want to do them for you. Pro pics can get you a lot of work, but you're best having them done independently from an agency, then using them as you wish. The only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0

Try Extra-People, Celex, Solomans, and Ray Knight. The only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0

Thanks for the replies. A lot of the agencies seem to be London based though, and I am in Manchester.
Does that matter?0 -
You could just lie, as a lot of the London based agencies won't take anyone outside London. But beware that you might get a call/ text/ email 11 pm the night before asking you to be somewhere in London for 7am the next day!! Plenty of girls I know do this, but they have a base to stay/ friends to crash with in London and try to book a couple of jobs at the same time for that time period. Works out better that way. Extra-People are looking for people in MancsThe only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0

Thank you
Extra-people seems like the safest bet. I just emailed them to ask about it.0 -
My friend done a scene in single father said he was in the episode for 2 mins and got paid £100 by just walking in and out a court wearing a lawyers suit and wig. I am based in Scotland and would like to do some type of work like this for extra cash however its not worth it if I have to travel to Manchester or London etc as more money probs spent on travel and by the comments of people not getting reimbursed dont think its for me sadly.0

Hi there, first post!
I basically was interested in extra work, registered on extras.co.uk, got an email of paramount media re. this zombie pre production for the 7th-14th Dec.
Would this be a scam then?
Like what has been said above, this company look a little bit dodgy to be fair so I have my doubts.
I've been asked for no money upfront (as of yet!) but I just didn't want to waste time arranging plans if it was just one big con.
Has anyone actually worked for them in the past??
Cheers guys0
