Buying a 2nd hand iPad

Am thinking of buying a 2nd hand iPad pro 12.9 and was wondering if theres anything i should look out for? I'm assuming the battery life will be pretty good still? And if its not, can they be replaced? (I've had iphone batteries replaced before)

Wongataa, it's actually my Christmas present but when it arrived I charged it and switched it on and went into App Store and it's letting me sign in to download apps, so guessing it's had the full reset done on it?
