A really unhappy annoying experience with trying to switch to VM. They plug and promote all services available, so sign up a relative, who wants to switch because he wants a telephone landline he can call mobile numbers on. 48 hours after ordering discover VM cannot offer a telephone line as there are no free points to connect to in relevant cabinet, only they don't tell you, by email or telephone call. No, they sneakily change your order in your account in the hope you won't log in and notice and then drop the bombshell on installation day.
A real awful underhand tactic to do especially to elderly residents, even more so when they are promoting there services on the estate and door knocking every day.
Cancelled order for relative and voting with my feet and cancelling my order also placed on same day!

I don't understand how would they benefit by doing this purposely?0

Where in my post did I say they benefit from doing this purposely?
Offering services they willing know they cannot provide in order to get you to sign up is wrong, even more so when they are fully aware of a problem and a lack of connection points for telephone lines. The first thing asked when calling to cancel was, 'Perhaps we can get you a discount without the phone...' no apology for the inconvenience, they simply wanting to continue to process the order without the telephone line.0
