Trying to shift overdraft with a 0% money transfer CC

Hi all!
So, I'm in about 2K of debt on my overdraft and am paying anywhere from 30-50 quid a month in fees. I have no way of even touching it to pay anything off until August of 2018.
I'm hoping to transfer it to a 0% money transfer credit card, but every time I try to do a credit check on Experian, they can't verify my identity. They won't tell me why this is, but the only thing I could think of is an issue with my electoral register. Basically, I've been registered at 2 addresses at the same time. I finally called them today to sort it and I'll be off the register for my old address from 1st of Feb 2018.
Does anyone know anything I can do in the meantime to help shift this debt or to avoid paying all these fees? I don't seem to be elligible for any cards because the credit check thing can't verify who I am!
Thanks in advance for any tips/help

Hi Kila100283,
Any kind of credit shift (0% balance transfer or even a new account) will be hard to do until the banks can do an appropriate credit check for you. There is no guarantee the new lender will check Experian (they may check Equifax or Call Credit) but this is a risk you take, and a lot of multiple searches could cause further issues to your credit file.
I would suggest talking to Experian again to see if there is anything else you can do between now and February as the credit files are updated at least once a month so it seems unfair for this not to be actioned until February 2018. Alternative, try and talk to your bank and asking if they could freeze the interest and charges, as a gesture of good will on a short term basis. Good luck,
Laura
