Customer Compliance Officer Home Visit

Hi all,
I apologize in advance as I don't doubt this subject has come up before under another thread, but I'm not the greatest on the internet & I don't really know how to find the subject I'm looking for & even when I did find an old article it was very confusing.
My partner has just received a letter from the DWP saying they are sending a Customer Compliance Officer around on Thursday 18th October 2007.
Although it was my partner who was claiming Income support, it was a family benefit & both our two children & I were down as dependants. However on the 13th August 2007 I started a new job & she signed off immediately. We now receive tax credits (both child & working credits) but no other benefits, so this visit has us really worried. We have tried phoning the DWP but they won't give us any information, they just fob us off by saying the compliance officer has all the files/notes so they don't know why she is visiting.
We are already in severe debt & have just got some help with that through CCCS (although obviously thats an ongoing process). But now with this visit hanging over us & no information as to why they are coming its really getting on top of me & the stress is pushing me beyond my limits.
Does anyone know why such a visit should be taking place, when clearly we are no longer in receipt of benefits from DWP. We have always tried to be totally honest with them & give them all the correct information but now I feel like we have done something illegal & I don't have a clue what or why!!
Any advice would be desperately appreciated??

I wouldn't worry if you've been honest when you made your claim. It's the dishonest people who should be worried about a visit. It's probably a random, routine one.0

I wouldn't be so worried if it wasn't for the fact she actually signed off 2 months ago when I started working. We aren't getting benefits from them anymore so for them to visit now they must feel they have a reason. Its making me sick with worry, because no matter how much I know we have always been honest with them I still think we must have done something wrong for them to be sending someone to our house now.
Its just more pressure on us that we really don't need at this moment!!:j DMP mutual support thread member - 135:j0 -
Could be a query over an aspect of your claim that has now ended. Could just be a crossed wire.0
