was just thinking the same gambit0

I don't think so. There are some vacancies posted on our local council website at the moment, they don't specify that any qualifications are necessary, they only ask that you are local to the school. It pays £7 per hour. XX0

Qualifications are not normally necessary, however, having a CRB (particularly enhanced) can be very handy. Good luck!0

You'd still need to have a CRB check anyway. I'm a youth leader in 2 different groups- these are International Organisations that work closley with each other. I still have to have a separate CRB (Enhanced) check for each- even with the same people involved with both and both affiliated to the same church. At the time of undergoing training for these groups and filling in the CRB forms, I actually held an Enhanced CRB certficate for my job as a Teaching Assistant. As far as I'm aware, the CRB isn't transferable- you have to have a new one done for each postion, regardless of how many you already hold or how recently you've had one. (I had my CRB for work and for one of the youth groups carried out within 6 months of each other).
As far as I know that's how it works everywhere- but it might be worth checking, purely because of the time it can take to get one done.Conquering the debts one penny at a time.....0 -
Hope no one minds at me bumping this up again - apologies if there is a similar one but I clicked the link from the main page.
With the GCSE exams around the corner I thought it might be useful to give people a reminder that many secondary schools may well still be looking for examination invigilators. We have recently taken on another bank of people so it might be worth contacting schools now and asking if they have any vacancies or would consider putting you on as a "stand by".
With more and more modules being introduced and in schools where there are special arrangements for individual students, it is surprising how many invigilators are needed.0 -
Perfect opportunity for students to earn some extra by doing little work well I am doing ACCA and will loved to do this.0

I know it's an old thread but this is still worthwhile and it's the time of year when many schools are advertising for covering the march mock exams and then the real exams in May - June.
Look on job sites like indeed but also direct on schools websites as some only advertise there.
Pay is now £8 to £12 an hour depending where in the country you are
I got my first post in may this year , just been accepted af a second school as I'm basically already trained. I'm planning to split my availability over both schools to maximize the amount of hours I get.
Fairly easy Money if you don't mind a lot of walking
It's an enhanced DBS check , you can make this "portable" by registering here
https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service
Within 30 days of it being issued. Portable means you can use it for ANY future enhanced or basic DBS job in the future for a fee of £13 a year otherwise you need to get a new one for each job
I'm not from a school of teaching background so that's not a requirementEx forum ambassador
