Mighty Deals & Ultimo Electronics- dreadful customer services

Ordered a refurbished phone through Mighty Deals & Ultimo electronics in October. It kept crashing whilst in use, informed the company 7th November and eventually heard from them a week later instructing me to re-set it or return for replacement/repair/refund, crashed when I tried to re-set it so returned it as instructed using 'second class signed for' post costing £6.00 and thats when the nonsense started. To cut a very long story short, I received the 'repaired' phone back on the 3rd December and it had the same fault. I have supplied a receipt for the postage but they say they will only refund £3.90 which is, according to them, the cost of second class signed for postage (I would like to know which Post Office they use). I have informed them that I will not accept part payment for postage, that I want to return the phone as it is still faulty and finally, yesterday, they agreed to refund me if I returned the phone by second class signed for post!!! Can anyone tell me whether I am covered under Section 75 or is Mighty Deals seen as a third party? Do I have to pay again for the phone to be returned? Ultimo tell me the refund will come from Mighty Deals, emails have been sent to both companies but going around in circles now, taking up lots of time and costing me more money. Not convinced I will receive anything even if I return the phone.

I can't answer your questions, but I would be very wary of sending the phone back by the advised method, if it gets lost then you won't get any money back. Send it Special Delivery so that it's insured for up to £500.0

I did send the phone back and Ultimo have authorised a refund but Mighty Deals have credited my account. I have tried to contact them, using their on line contact form and apart from an automated email directing me to contact Ultimo to organise returning the phone I have heard nothing from them. I have had to purchase another phone, one that works this time, so the credit on my account is worthless to me. Any ideas anyone on how I can get Mighty Deals to speak to me? Thank you0

Refunds must be to the same payment method unless the consumer expressly agrees otherwise (CRA 2015, section 20 (16)).
