Carpet worn after 7 months

I bought an expensive carpet from a local carpet shop. It was thick grey and lovely and soft . It is in living room and has been down 6-7 months and is worn all over and looks nothing at all like the original carpet we bought. We don’t wear shoes in the room we don’t have pets .
I asked the man who runs the carpet shop he said it’s exackgjy like he would expect after a few months??? And he doesn’t think the manufacturer would do anything.
I just don’t think this is acceptable after paying for a top quality carpet and it looking so faded and old after only a few months
8 need to put it in writing but not sure who or what to quote .. is it sale of goods act??

Consumer Rights Act 2015.
As it is more than 6 months since purchase the seller can require you to obtain a professional report to determine (on the balance of probabilities) that the carpet had an inherent fault (present but not apparent at the time of sale). The report must state (in the opinion of the writer) that the fault was inherent or the carpet was not of satisfactory quality bearing in mind the price paid.
The reasonable cost of such a report would be added to your claim against the seller.
How did you pay for the carpet? Credit card?0 -
Can you tell us exactly what carpet you had installed please. Lovely and soft sounds more suitable for a bedroom than a living room.0

I also think it depends on the type of carpet. My parents have installed a lovely soft grey carpet in their house. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be a big mistake. Generally speaking living areas need hard wearing and short pile as opposed to soft.
Is it that the pile has flattened?0 -
The pile is very flat looks old and worn. The carpet we picked was advised by carpet shop we picked it as it was nice but not too thick it was sold as a living room carpet . We spent lots of time talking to them we had same carpet on stairs but the thinner one advised by them as it would be too slippy on stairs for the living room one to be there. That one has worn too.
We paid on debit card
The carpet shop said they’ll email manufacturer a week or so back but said they haven’t heard from them0 -
What fibre is it? Wool or synthetic?0
