LPS parking charge notice

Hi all! I've been issued a 'parking charge notice' by the wonderful LPS Ltd, a private land parking company scattered (terrorising;)) the entire UK! I've read plenty of posts on here saying to ignore the ticket or 'invoice' as it's asking for a ludicrous charge if paid within 14 days! I paid for 1 hour parking which cost me £1.00 for 1 hour. I was held up in work next door and was 21 minutes over the time when I returned to my car, welcomed by the charge notice! Now I stupidly emailed the parking firm giving my address (foolish I know) asking to negotiate payment to £10 to resolve the issue, to which I had a standard response of NO basically. I don't mind being stubborn and not paying the extortionate fee of £50 they want, but can someone please tell me in simple terms what the best move is in this particular scenario? I don't mind going civil court if it gets that far, but what is my angle and what do I say, as technically I've over stayed my ticket time! Please please someone advise me! :xmassign:

Christo38, read post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread and sent the appropriate appeal to the private parking company.

You also need to edit your post to avoid giving clues to the driver's identity.
  • There are quite a few similar scenario posts on here involving differing parking companies, same issues. Ok, so not so much 'ignore' per se, more the case of ignoring the initial panic response until a certain time period and making a carefully worded appeal to POPLA? Is this the case? If so, with my particular situation, what are the chances of success?
  • Edited! I've made the initial appeal statement to the parking company, receiving the generic decline response. Totally confused with all the abbreviations as to what is ndeed, when and in what wording! Some of the advice posts are extremely lengthy and almost cry out for an interpreter! I'm probably going to incite riot here, but are my chances of success that slim that it's easier to just pay the charge?? :(

You original post still needs editing to hide the identity of the driver.

Earlier today I heard of another 'victim' who carelessly gave away the driver's identity in a similar way and the PPC submitted screenshots of his posts on this forum as part of their evidence countering a PoPLA appeal.

Thus proving this is not silly pedantry.

and when you are editing post #1 again, add the NAME of this private parking company as well
  • Read newbies thread, post one again. It has common abbreviations.
You have a rejection therefore a popla code? If it’s saying IAS then you know to ignore now...
  • Thanks for the advice nosferatu1001, appreciated.
As for the priority concern suddenly turning into changing my post into some stealthy cloak and dagger dddt, I don't see the issue myself. I'm not incriminating myself in any way, neither am I being slanderous towards the parking company. The information I've given on here is exactly the truth, and what I would include in an appeal... over stayed by a fraction, issued with an extortionate fine to which I disputed, tried negotiating payment which was then declined. Just ndeed others opinions as to whether or not it was worth appealing under such circumstances, or cave and pay. Other advisory sites recommend (based on first hand experience) to negotiate and appeal. I'll look around for further advice elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

Oh gods, “other sites” have less than 1/1000th the knowledge of here or pepipoo

You can take the well tried route on here , which results in a huge win rate, or not. Your choice.

Could it be that you are mistaken?

    Not yet, maybe.
But when you post up your PoPLA appeal, which gets recognised by the PPC...
