Apple iPhone 5 how do I erase my account and create a new one?

I have vacated my iPhone 5 for a new Motorola Moto C android smartphone today as they have stopped supporting the 5 from September this year, however I am giving it to a friend to palm it off onto whom wants it.

The question is how do I delete my existing Apple account from the iPhone 5 I have and set a new account in my friends name on this and is it possible at all by resetting the phone completely?

Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings

A new Apple ID would then need to be created on the Apple site.

Probably needs to log out of iCloud first I think?

The erase settings sets the phone as new, it won't be logged on to iCloud.

you need to disable icloud before doing that, I think it might ask you for password in the process though cant remember

Don't forget to get it unlocked by *your* network before you do anything else - that will make it more valuable if someone wants to sell it.
