I tried the link to 'Britishimages', but they no longer exist.
I will probably use Alamy as I set up an account with them a while ago.Never Knowingly Understood.

Having followed the 'Alamy' link, I think I might just give Alamy a miss. I wonder whether or not PD.com are worth a try.Never Knowingly Understood.

Quick question to you friendly chaps. If I was to spot something that I felt was newsworthy and snapped it (right place at the right time, not something the press could snap later) how would I go about submitting it. I know there was an agency callet scoot but they've since folded.
Many Thanks

Totaly agree, also they sell lots of pictures, their credit appears in most magazines that use stock pictures.0 -
Alamy is fine but they do have very strict quality control and apparently it can take several goes to get an initial submission through their QC checks. Have a look at the forum at http://www.alamy.com/forums/.0

Looks like Alamy have upped the stakes, they now want images with a min. uncompressed sioze of 48mb or greater, so thats 14mp+ then, I'm using a 10Mp DSLR & can't afford to upgrade, so it looks like PD is going to be my only option.
BTW, does anyone know if it is possible to sell photos through flickr or snapfish, or photobox?Never Knowingly Understood.

I never thought of that. Wonder how I find-out hot big my images will be when uncompressed?Never Knowingly Understood.

The camera Mp does not restrict the ability to upload to Alamy as you can resize using Photoshop. There are lots of articles about how to do it e.g.

i would add that I use a 12.8mp Canon 5D and if I shoot RAW then convert to TIFF without compressing I have a 48mb TIFF file.....at my 12.8mp resolution.
If I use photoshop and increase the resolution my file size increases even further.
Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!0
