Wish anybody could give some some advice on size of the bike?
My girl is 3 1/2, and I would say she is a bit smaller than average 3.5yr girl. In the shop, we could let her to try it on before buying but on the web, no chance.
Should I buy 14" or 12"? If 12"?
Thanks.0 -

My daughter is 4 in a couple of months and I have ordered her the 14" Raleigh Daisy bike. I looked at the bike on Argos and it states it is suitable for inside leg measurements of between 40cm and 50cm. Hope this helps.0 -

My 3 year old son has got a 10" bike, and his 6 year old brother has a 14" bike. I would opt for the 12" bike if I were you, especially if it is a first bike.0 -

Thanks. Think about the same thing. But just thought I might get away with it if I buy a 14" saving me buying 12"

Remembered I got my first bike from my father (his) when I was 13. I survived from it.

I have grandsons of average sizes and aged 3, 4 and 5. The oldest started at 3 and a half with 12" wheel. His dad bought him a 14inch but it did not fit him until he was about 4. His legs could not quite reach the pedals at full extension with the seat on the lowest position. Now aged 5, nearly 6 he rides a 16 inch, but the 14 inch still fits.
The 4 year old is finding the 12 inch too small now, but is managing now I have raised the seat. The 3 year old has a 12 inch thomas bike which he is finding too small but likes the other 12 inch. Although both 12 inch - one is definitely bigger than the other. I went into Halfords and let then sit on the demonstration bikes there to get an idea of size, but remember the seats will rise. If they sit on them, check they can push the pedal all the way to the lowest point . - good luck0 -
