I think a lot of people will disagree with you Jingle, those on their own; the homeless living on the street, the homeless living in some dirty temporary b&b who can hardly afford clothes for the kids, never mind toys.
Happy Christmas stories only help many people see that it's not a happy time.

It is a good point you make Sam it does just rub in the loneliness and misery some people feel when everyone is telling what a great time they should be having.

    I agree, good points.

    Yes?

    No.

It's been rammed down out throats since September, it's all just a commercial money making exercise to extort as much money as possible by dressing it up as 'The most wonderful time of the year'.

It's an horrific time for those parents who are less well off, feeling pressured into getting their little darlings the latest must have through fear of their children being bullied for being the only 'have nots' in the playground. Some parents will not cave it, will tell themselves their children are better off without, some just can't and will feel wretched when they see the disappointment on their children's faces on Christmas morning, others will get themselves in debt or scrimp for the next 6 months to pay for 'the most wonderful time of the year'. Either way it's ultimately the children who pay the price.
Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear

Interesting story this Jingle, the results of a YouGov poll say only 39% of people find Christmas joyful.

I’m surprised it’s that many. Everywhere I go people are moaning about it and saying they'll be glad when it’s all over.

Every year I hope people will see the light and not be dragged along by the shops and TV ads, but it never happens. It’s just a greedfest now.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

A poll carried out on behalf of a charity that supports people estranged from their families, it might be slightly biased :rotfl:
