I think a lot of people will disagree with you Jingle, those on their own; the homeless living on the street, the homeless living in some dirty temporary b&b who can hardly afford clothes for the kids, never mind toys.
Happy Christmas stories only help many people see that it's not a happy time.0 -

The ironic thing is chirstmas is usually the only time of the year those people are thought about by anybody.0 -

It is a good point you make Sam it does just rub in the loneliness and misery some people feel when everyone is telling what a great time they should be having.0 -

Nobody really cares that people are alone for the rest of the year but all of a sudden a wave of guilt hits them at christmas and they feel that they should be at least seen to be doing something.
I find this sickening:mad:

Or is it because all the usual places the homeless etc. go for sanctuary are closed over Xmas? The lonely, who might sit in a library all day to keep warm and save on home heating bills, will be grateful for a community service maybe offering a cut price dinner, and of course the rough sleepers who won't have access to soup kitchens or night shelters for a couple of days.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Can’t wait till all this plastic niceness is over and we can go back to hating one another on Jan 2nd. Humbug.0

It is so long as something doesn't happen to screw it up. Dad has flu and i have things planned for later in the week. It had better not screw it up for us.0
