Humax Freesat Recording -

- to an external device, via the USB ports in the Humax.

Is this possible? I would like to record certain programmes to an external Hdd and/or a USB DVDRW. Any channels, including BBC. And yes, I have a TV licence. My Humax is a HDR-1100S.

Also, how to play and record to my NAS, certain BBC DVD's? Such as "Rome", "Peaky Blinders" and others?

TY for advice!
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

That model is a Freesat Freetime PVR, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't have the facility for recording to an external drive.

You can rip DVDs to your computer, provided it has an optical drive, and then transfer them to your NAS drive.
If you google you'll find plenty of software to let you do that, but as it's not strictly legal to rip commercial DVDs, I don't think I can mention the software here?

You cannot record to an 'external device', the best you can do is move the recordings onto another device when they've finished.
