Hi all,
Firstly very happy to see the number of appeals on this forum, glad so many people are against the extortionate penalties these companies are placing on people.
My car was parked for 17 mins at a pretty empty NCP car park recently and have just received a letter asking for a £100 (or early £50) payment for not paying. It was parked in a similar manner again recently (probably less than 10 mins this time) and I fear they will be sending another fine at which point I think it would be ridiculous to just play along.
Have read through a number of threads inc the newbie thread. My first point will be the fact they sent the letter more than 14 days after the incident, breaching POFA.
My first question is has anyone ever had a fine dropped directly with the PPC based on their intial letter? If I mention the particular point above (not adhering to the POFA timing) will it only potentially work in my favour or should I hold back all cards until the POPLA appeal?
Many thanks guys/gals

Yes, loads of times using the forum template which already says 'you will either have to rely on the POFA, or' (that's enough to cover it, and the PPCs recognise the template, which is the idea!). Here's one like that where the forum template just did the trick, because the PPC recognised it and gave up, because they knew what would follow at POPLA:

But as a change, here's an example, using different words for the first appeal:

You can write what you want as long as the driver isn't divulged.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

'Breaching POFA' will be of no concern if NCP know the identity of the driver.
You would be wise to edit your post now to avoid giving that away.
For example, your second paragraph should start something like:The driver parked for...
Review and adjust the rest of your post similarly.0 -

Awesome to hear, will see what they say!'Breaching POFA' will be of no concern if NCP know the identity of the driver.

Good point thanks. The post is pretty much anonymised though (no details of vehicle/driver/time/exact place). Have adjusted it anyway, thanks0 -

Yes that's right, but you are now preparing to appeal.
Private parking companies trawl forums like this one just waiting for people to trip themselves up.
Thus it is always a good idea to ensure that there is no possibility of anyone concluding that the appellant is anything but the keeper.
Wouldn't it be annoying if your PPC related your appeal to this thread - you'll probably be posting your appeal here for appraisal - and you lose PoFA keeper protection through carelessness?
Anyway, sorry to go on about it, but it is important.
Your post looks fine now.0
