Cheap, Discrete and Possibly DIY Ways To Exclude Draught Coming Through Windows?

I've managed to get some 6mm ones, thank you. They are quite fiddly to get right against the edges of the window, any advice on that? I also noticed the windows have a thin rubber guard, presumably to prevent heat loss, but having these draught excluders on top of that should stop even more heat loss? I'm also considering those clear sheets you blow dry over the glass as another level of protection, but perhaps I shouldn't as it's a rented property?0
