Non refundable return ticket

Looking to buy a return ticket on special offers to Mauritius but it is non refundable. I will be travelling in 5 months time and a bit concerned if I need to cancel ticket due to ill health. If I buy my travel insurance at the same time will it cover me in case of non travel? Thanks

  • It is important to take out insurance now, it’s the only way to cover any illness that may occur between now and your departure date.
  • You'll need to declare any pre existing conditions when taking out insurance, and ensure you are covered for them.
  • Is there a reason you may be (or think you will be) suffering ill-health in 5 months time?

Yes, standard travel insurance would cover you for the costs of cancellation due to ill-health. However, if you have any kind of health condition that might make it likely that you cannot travel, you need to declare it when taking out insurance: the insurance company might refuse to cover you, or might charge you an additional premium if there is reason to believe that you pose a higher risk than the average person.

Look at xxxxxxxx Travel Insurance. They have the most liberal coverages for pre existing conditions.

Checkout their website, search for pre -existing conditions.

Six posts, and in five of them you recommend the same company. It's almost like you work for them.

Why would someone in the UK want to take out insurance with a US company?
