BTU in radiators

I am looking for a new radiator for the kitchen, I want to upgrade it from a single to a double.
Looking at radiator specs - does the higher the BTU number mean more heat for the room?

Yes, the higher the BTU the more heat the radiator will pump out.
There's a BTU calculator on soak.com to give you an idea of what you need:

This helps to work out the BTU (BTUs?) of your existing radiators:

About 3400 BTUs is the same as 1KW (which makes it easier for me to understand and also useful for checking your boiler is up to the job).0 -
