Credit Repair

Hi, I have a terrible credit record from when I was at university and I really want to try and repair as much as possible because I don't want to let my partner down in a couple of years time when we go for a mortgage together. Can anyone advise me as I would be very much grateful. Thank You.

  • The only way is to operat your accounts in good order from now on. Any entries made on the credit file that are adverse, will be removed 6 years after they have been put on. If there are errors, make sure you contact your creditors and have them corrected. Also, do not use any fee charging service that offers to improve your credit rating. Others will tell you, this is virtually impossible. Good luck.
  • Are you in a position to repay old debts (ie ones taken out in last 6 years) ?
  • No one will be in a situation to pay back on the spot so that he can have a better credit rating. Instead you can opt for a debt consolidation and pay back that debt on time to have a positive credit record...
