ParkingEye at Chichester Gate

Just curious really about their setup here and from reading another thread about the same location. This is a place that has a cinema, gym, bowling, Nandos and various other restaurants. I am unable to see where the ParkingEye camera is. I think I can see it on Google Street View. A black box at number plate level as you drive in.

I'm curious to know the legality of their setup and how easy it would be to fight a fine (not been hit with one). Because the signs for ParkingEye are only visible once you've entered the car park and from what I can tell, driven past or upto the camera.

The signs have very small print on them and anyone with bad eyesight would have a very hard time reading them in the car park and they surely can't expect you to read them while driving past?

If you use the cinema you can get an extra 2 hours added by entering your number plate into their system. This is one of the big issues I have. All the time we went to the cinema we never saw this. No sign to it at all. Then one day I spotted it after coming out of a movie. I understand they've put it "movie side" (after you give your ticket) otherwise it could be abused, but isn't it poor form that it has no signage? At one point both terminals were removed, then a month or so later reappeared.

The signs at night don't appear to be that well lit either.

Try not to get involved with any parking eye tickets.

    They are very litigious

All the issues you raise are dealt with every day by regulars trying to help unsuspecting motorists caught up in an unregulated skimdustry’s traps.

    Read almost any thread.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The signs in your links are for Euro Car Parks and not Parking Eye.

A classic example of why so many manage to get themselves parking tickets! :D

You can see why they (presumably) kicked out PE, from all the complaints in that link from 2015!

However, as we've said before, why are retailers/cinemas so DAMN STUPID, that when they sack a PPC, they appoint another?
