Wiping HDD with DBan?

I am wiping a 250Gb HDD using DBan and it is currently on pass 1 of 3 and says time remaining 98:52:20! Does that mean 98 hours 52 mins:eek:?

I know I really shouldn't have but I stopped it and restarted with the quick wipe option, it now says around 34 hours which is a little more acceptable."Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

Had to wipe it after a major crash. Nothing would work,safe mode,repair with disc, wouldn't even let me reformat with the XP disc it just kept throwing up errors about the hard disc being damaged.
I managed to run and install Ubuntu without any problems so I assume the HDD is fine, but it just would not accept XP."Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

Well, it worked. For others reference, using Dban in 'quick' mode to wipe a
250Gb HDD will take approximately 30 hours!
