Good job, HSBC

My wife applied and was approved for HSBC Advance on 24.11. After 72 minutes of phone conversation for setting up the online banking and without a word for switching the switch was comleted on 08.12. (she just filled in the switching details during the online application process). Today 15.01. which is one week later she's got the £150 incentive. I'm impressed. though I personally have had some issues with them recently. Let's praise the good job when there is one.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

I had to attend a local branch to get my account open which was a hassle but it did happen to coincide with a dental appointment so I managed to do both in the same day so it didn't feel too onerous.
I had forgotten but my telephone banking was set up at the time and I've now been able to set up internet banking. Being as I've now logged on I can see that my £150 bonus was credited yesterday (roughly a month after I opened the account)
Setting everything up with them was far more hassle than with any of my other banks but I consider the bonus to have made it worthwhile. I do intend to use it as one of my main accounts from now on.0 -
I opened an account a few weeks ago. I did not have to meet anyone in the branch. Got my £150 bonus a while ago. Just have have to wait a few months now for the extra £50 bonus.
Nice and easy.0 -
Absolutely right. We are far more likely to complain than praise so I always applaud giving praise when deserved. At least not now. There is a time to praise and a time to complain.:T
However, I need to confess to an ulterior motive for my post. The user to whom I was replying has become, shall we say, infamous for their wonderfully outrageous posts about earning money through complaining to the banks.0 -
