hospital blue badge parking bay fine received parking eye

Hi,
I recently attended a hospital appointment and as a blue badge holder I parked in a disabled bay and went for my appointment which took just under an hour.
I then drove off with nothing untoward to the best of my knowledge, at that point.
A few days later I received a PCN. A
s I suffer from stress aswell as my other conditions I am not too good with official letters and cannot register what just seems to be a load of jargon. I have been ill and it has actually taken a few weeks more to realise what I THINK they have issued me a notice for. I find it very difficult to take in this mumbo jumbo.
I clearly entered and left the hospital (apparently private land car park, who knew?!) at the times they recorded, this was all in under an hour)
then stuff about signage, valid permit and authorisation.
I was supposed to pay forty pounds before tomorrow or it will go up to seventy pounds.
I have spoken to the hospital receptionist on the door who then gave me a number of another man who deals with parking issues in the hospital.
He was rude, obnoxious and unbending, saying I must have seen signs and also should have seen and been informed at reception of registering or something.
Neither of these cases is true for me.
I simply parked in a hospital blue badge disabled bay showing my badge. This is what I have done in the past without being sent notices. I had no idea to any change of system.
This is NOT user friendly to people with learning difficulties, mental health, autism or disability groups already attending an appointment .
I told the man this and he refused to acknowledge just dismissed me saying I should have seen the signage or seen it in hospital reception

    1. Contact PALS (Google it) at the hospital and ask them to help you.

    2. Which parking company please?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
