OH works in a number of locations where there is no WiFi and relies upon his Vodafone dongle to connect to the internet. He has had it for some time and pays a monthly fee. Unfortunately it has gone missing. He has asked around and no one has seen it. How would he go about getting a replacement?

Assuming you got the dongle from Vodafone in the first place, then phoning Vodafone would be a good first step, or contact wherever you bought it from but in either case a replacement will almost certainly be chargeable.0

it originally came from Currys I think but that branch has since closed.0

Buy another; http://www.argos.co.uk/product/3456606 £20. Should come with 2GB of data for use over a month.
Can pick up from Argos immediately. So can be up and running straight away.
In the meantime, ask Vodafone to send out a replacement SIM free of charge.
When it arrives swap the SIMs and apply this unlock code; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unlock-Mobile-Wi-Fi-code-Vodafone-R207-HUAWE-E5330-E5330bs-E5330cs-Unlocking/1613978011650 -
First port of call is to Vodafone to get it turned off so nobody else can use it and rack up a daft bill and to get them to send a new SIM card. Then go buy another. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
