Single, six kids and going to be debt free!

Thanks, I am getting there. I have had set backs and I have had some luck but my debts are almost all paid off.
My washing machine doesn't have a timer unfortunately so I can't set it to finish at a certain time. I normally only do the washing when I know I have time to hang it out. I do have two tumble driers though which will definitely help me in the winter to get everything dry!
I have completed my list for today which was the living room. I have tidied and cleaned what I needed to. Its not perfect but hopefully each week I will get more and more done.
So today I have been thinking about August and I need to set some goals. But they need to be challenging, and I know that I should be able to pay £1680 off my debt next month so I want to set a challenge of more than that.
So here are my goals for August:
- Pay £1729.78 off my debt (this would leave £550 left to pay in September)
- List 15 items for sale on various places
- Make £100 extra (either from selling, surveys, savings on weekly spending money)
I think that is enough, but I am going to have little weekly goals in order to make myself feel better about myself.
Right not long to go until bedtime and then up early tomorrow to do my daily list of chores.0 -

Thanks Beanie, it’s partly due to my childcare fees dropping considerably in September as my youngest gets 15 hours a week funding. I think I might also get an extra weeks tax credits or an extra housing benefit payment instead of just two a month which helps.0

So today is tidying the upper floors and hoovering. My son has tidied one lot of stairs, one landing and his bedroom so those have been hoovered. I have also tidied the other stairs and DD2 has decided she wants to hoover those stairs in order to earn some more money.
I have also sorted out DS2's clothes and put them away nicely in his drawers. I don't have much else planned for the day apart from hoover the girls' rooms once they have been tidied. This is lucky as I spent half the night awake with my youngest who kept being sick. This morning she was still being sick and couldn't even keep water down. I went to the chemist and they gave me something for children to try and keep her hydrated and she seems to have kept that down so that is a good sign. She is currently asleep so I might try her with a dry biscuit when she wakes up and see how that goes.
I might try and sort out DD3's clothes as she seems to have loads and her chest of drawers keeps breaking!
Other than that I plan on having a quiet afternoon and maybe a quick nap!0 -

So I haven't been on for a few days as the sickness bug hit the house. Everyone apart from the two boys has been hit and to be honest, I am expecting them to be hit next! At least the bug seems to be over quite quickly which is good.
So today one of my credit cards has been paid off completely! :j:j
I got paid today, along with my housing benefit payment and my tax credit payment early so I have a nice amount of money in my bank.
My other debt is now down to £1549.78 as I have just paid what I normally pay plus the extra that I would have paid to the other credit card.
In bad news I have taken out a car loan to buy a new car. My car has gone wrong again and it is costing me more and more money to keep fixing it, so I took the plunge to get a newer car. It is a seven seater but has roof rails and a tow bar so I will be able to get a trailer tent and go camping more with the kids. Yes it is going to cost me money but I made sure I could over pay the loan so the plan is to pay it off in less than 1 year instead of 5 years. So I go to sign the paperwork today and then hopefully I can pick it up over the weekend. Then I will scrap my old car and get some money back from that which will go straight to pay off the new loan.
So must get up and out of bed as I need to wash up some bowls so DD2 can make some more brownies.0 -
Good news on the cc

So today I picked up the new car and it is lovely. The old one is going on an scrap auction on Monday in the hope that I can get as much money as possible for it. Then as soon as it is picked up I will get a refund of the tax but that will probably only be one month. But it is better than nothing.
I have just sorted out my budgets for the rest of the year and I still have money left over even after paying for the car and for the holiday. But I do need to focus on making as much extra money as possible. I have just done another survey on PA so on Tuesday I will hopefully cash out £6 on there. And tomorrow I am going to photograph a load of stuff that needs to be sold and will list them on FB first and then ebay if they don't sell on FB. I have loads of kids shoes that have hardly been worn including my youngest shoes from Clark.
So I have done my list for tomorrow and that includes cleaning the conservatory and listing a load of stuff for sale.
Now I have bought the car, this means that saving for the house deposit is going to take a back seat for a little while, but I am still putting money into my help to save account.0 -

Thanks Beanie, it was a very happy day yesterday. My new car is lovely. Now just to pay for it. It means moving house may have to be a year later than planned but it is still going to happen.
So I have worked out what I need to make extra this month in order to pay for the extra childcare, put back into the contingency fund what I had to borrow for the new car and generally make sure I have enough money in order to pay the extra £1000 off my debts which I had planned this month. The total comes to £419.40. If I don't make this then I just pay less to my debts but I really want to get as close to this figure as possible. Some of it will come from the old car including a road tax refund.
So I'm going to track on here.
Extra Income needed August 2018 £12.50/£419.40
I already have £12.50 from my monthly bank reward and I saved £9.50 from last week's general spending. I plan on photographing and listing loads of bits for sale this week and also getting rid of the old car will help even if it is only for scrap!0
