Hello,
I ‘own’ a leasehold flat on the 1st floor. because of the grenfel tower disaster the freeholder asked us to change the main entrance door to the flat at the eyewatering sum of £1000.00 as according to them they don’t comply with building regulations in regards to fire safety.
those were here when we bought the property and no certificate was passed down from previous owner. those are wooden doors ( probably pine) with oval shape glass in the top of the door. also has got a flap for letterbox. on the glass there is sign fortrex bs 6206a.
the doors are in good order with those brushy type seals around the frame. is there any way I can prove that those doors are good enough in terms of building regulations withouth any suporting certificate?
thank you for any replies!

You may struggle. In a block of flats without multiple fire exits, all the front doors should be fire rated. When I lived in such a flat, the front door had a specific fire rating marker set into the edge of the door (to show how long it was rated for) and wired glass, so it wouldn't just shatter from the heat.
There's no guarantee that a random wooden door is suitable. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
