In my experience - and I'm not trying to be unhelpful - none of them. :)

I would agree with none of them.

They tend to promote their advertisers and have an editorial bias.

  • At the end of the day, if you had a winning formula for picking shares - you wouldn't be selling the info for a relatively small amount of money.

However for general advice and ideas the Investors Chronicle is quite good read, also the Economist is good to get a birds eye view of the world from a financial perspective
  • My experience of photography magazines is that they are written by wannabee photographers who can't earn a living as photographers, often due to lack of talent. I suspect investment magazines are similar.

  • Shares magazine is good and if you have an account with A J Bell, it is also free each week. I have managed to get a few lucrative share ideas from that magazine.

Many of them are aligned to DIY platforms to try and encourage trading activity on your account. I agree it's worth reading economic articles, broad investment theory and viewpoints but those are often freely available online so it's really not worth reading any share tipping magazines.

Invest the money you would have spent on a subscription.
