As explained above tax credits are worked out on annual income not just benefit received now. As earnings are already over £40k tax credits will not be due.

    REALLY?

So HMRC have now changed the rule that allowed people on Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (And others IS, IBESA, PCGT etc) to qualify automatically and get full Child Tax Credit (Regardless of previous years or this years earnings) while they are on IBJSA, well that's excellent advice and a £180 weekly lost for this struggling couple?

    :T:T:T:

One of these :T for each of their children now in poverty due to this excellent advice by "sheramber" a very recent change I was fully unaware of anyways.

No you're right - if they get IBJSA then they would qualify. Apologies if my post misled - somehow I had read the original post as with CBJSA.

Any income test is ignored during a period in receipt of IBJSA - so OP if you can get onto IBJSA even as a top-up to CBJSA then you will get the CTC>
