Hi all
I am currently with virgin and there router is shocking for wifi.
I bought a wifi extender a while ago which was good for say my tv which stayed in the same position but not my phone because the wifi extender created its own wifi logon so if i was downstairs id have switch to router then when i went upstairs my phone would still be connected to the router very weekly and id have to go into wifi on phone and connect to extender
Is there a device i can get that like boosts the signal so using the same login but sort of takes the signal and boosts it up without having to login to a new wifi as this is annoying
Cheers

You can use a wifi ethernet plug that will mirror the original wifi network whilst also driving the signal via the plug line0

A pair of powerline adapters, one with wi-fi might be an option

or I like the look of these https://www.screwfix.com/p/british-general-922wr-13a-2g-single-pole-wi-fi-extender-socket-white/7706V?kpid=7706V&ds_rl=1248181&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249481&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_fL8vtOM2AIVb5PtCh2WxgOfEAQYAyABEgIOdvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJLJi8TTjNgCFVdnGwodJYcPxg0 -

Mesh networks are not a cheap option, but they are very good at creating a seamless network. I have the BT Whole Home Wifi kit and it is very good, but a lot more expensive than a Homeplug solution. There are a number of other mesh network kits available.0 -
flashg67, I also like the look of that Screwfix power socket extender. A useful idea, many thanks for the link.
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Doesn't your extender have a browser settings page where you can disable DHCP on it and make all settings identical to your router, i.e. same SSID and wifi password (repeater mode)? That way, moving around the house is seamless. Sounds like yours might be set up as an access point.0

^^ Yeah... I think you need exactly the same encryption settings on both devices, and then you should switch between access points automatically.0 -
