What is the easiest way to find threads that I have posted so that I can find the replies that have been made?

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

If you go to Quick Links then Subscribed Threads it should show all the threads you've ever posted on (assuming you haven't changed your settings)
The threads with the most recent reply will be at the top of the list.

You could also click My Profile from Quick Links and select 'Find all posts by rizla01'

    Nope,

The first thread shown is one I subscribed to two weeks or more ago. It seems to show them in order of replies to that thread, not necassarily mine.

This thread, for example is no-where to be seen unless I right click on my avatar and find it that way.

If you go to your options page under Messaging and notification, there's a box
    'Default thread subscription mode'

If it says Do not subscribe then change it to No email notification (assuming you don't want an email)

(hopefully) that'll mean every thread you start or reply to will always be added to the subscription list
