Hi
I have received an email from lms@botline.com requesting payment for an invoice. When I click on the view invoice an error message pops up.
I have had no dealings with this company, I believe they buy and sell businesses for clients and are based in the USA. I have never owned a business nor am I in the process of buying one.
Do I ignore the email as spam or shall I contact someone to see if someone has used my email address or name to purchase a business?
Can anyone help?
Kind Regards
Taz

Hello -this is spam, ignore, do not open attachment. My company is Bottom Line Consultancy and some people who have received this spam email have googled Bottom Line Management, found my details and added 2 and 2 together and got 5 - i've had quite a few calls. As you say this is originating from the US. I've contacted the company saying they need to review their IT security.
But do not open"0 -
Thanks for the info sclarky, I have deleted said emails and won't worry about them now.0

Should never have clicked on the invoice. This is a classic ransomware tactic: my advice would be to back up all your important files ASAP and format your hard drive.0
