Sound Problems

No idea what has happened, whether it's some software update, or Windows update, but my sound settings seem to have changed. If I turn the sound up to a certain level, I get like a 'reverb' sound, and I wouldn't really say the sound is as loud as it was. Plus, in the select playback device, I have !!!!! Speakers, Realtek Digital Audio, Realtek High Definition Speakers, and Realtek Digital output. Only the High Definition Speakers seem to come through my headphones (which I use most of the time). Anyone know how I can sort this? It's mainly the volume, and the reverb that seems to be different.
