Old Car Finance

Years ago, I bought my first Seat Ibiza on Finance and remember being told I had to have a certain protection cover. Unfortunately, I can't find any paperwork for this. Does anyone know if a car company always use/used the same finance company nationwide?

Since any PPI mis-selling complaint goes to the seller (rather than the provider) of the insurance, the finance company used is irrelevant.
In addition, car dealers were not regulated prior to 2005, so complaints about earlier sales don't have to be considered.
What "protection cover" are you referring to?0 -
Thanks for the reply. It was 2003 so won't be considered anyway. It was a payment I had to agree on to get the deal which was part of my monthly payment in case I wrote off the car - something I now know should be optional.0

That's not PPI, of course, which was insurance in the event of unemployment or sickness. Even if this were post 2005, you'd still have a difficult job proving you were told that any insurance was compulsory even though it wasn't.It was a payment I had to agree on to get the deal which was part of my monthly payment in case I wrote off the car
A very weak complaint for which you can provide no evidence. I don't see how you could progress this..0 -

Sounds like GAP insurance, its always overpriced at dealers but the cover is quite useful.0 -
Hello, I have just found some paperwork from when i purchased my ford KA in april 2005. there is a questionnaire attached where I have advised them i receive 12 months sick pay and on their side of the questionnaire they have advised i take ppi which will cover me for up to 12 months. I am going to complain as a mis-sell but do I go directly to the ford second hand dealer? I can't remember which bank the finance was provided by but i have the dealer details and the name of the salesman as I still have the receipt? thanks
