New Car Purchase Jeep/ Resolver tool

Hi, I am looking for peoples opinions and knowledge thanks.
Back in Oct I negotiated a deal for a new Jeep with a not local dealer. All the aspects of the deal were sorted to include a PX value, model spec, large discount and also a large deposit contribution from Jeep and 4 years 0% finance on the balance. I paid a small deposit and placed the order.
11 days later I get an email from the dealer saying the car allocated to my order has been reported as severely damaged while in the Jeep Supply chain and was no longer available. After a few calls back and to they eventually said they could supply a comparable vehicle but not at the agreed price because there was none left on the system that carried the bonuses from Jeep.
I told them that until they provided an alternative quote for comparison that I could not make a decision but my feeling was if the damage to the vehicle happened in the Jeep supply chain then Jeep should supply the vehicle under the same terms as I feel they are responsible.

50 days have passed and although I have had emails from the dealer saying they are working on my behalf no alternative quote has been forthcoming. Fed up with being messed around and during this time I have raised a complaint with Jeep using the Resolver website.

I have now progressed through the resolver complaint to the point where yesterday it was escalated to the point where there is no higher escalation within Jeep. Up to now they have only been playing lip service to the complaint without any real attempt to resolve anything.

My questions really are what are my rights and What can I do with the resolver complaint if they continue to ignore the problem, is there anywhere I can take it to?

I know some will say my issue is with the dealer as that is who I placed the order to but the problem arose while the vehicle was still under the control of Jeep which to my mind makes them responsible plus the dealer tells me they want to supply another vehicle under the same terms but that because of Jeeps actions they are prevented from doing so.

Sorry it is so long-winded

  • You are flogging a dead horse here, time to move on, unless you want to try and sue for loss bargain, which could end up being a total waist of time and money.
  • Your right is to get your deposit back. That's all, time to move on

I think the others are right, but it's very, very poor customer service and I hope you express your displeasure with Jeep in as many places as you can find, starting with their Twitter and Facebook pages.

It was a Cherokee and I already have one. Been a great car. Once I get my deposit back I will have my say. I used the Carwow service and will be leaving an honest review on there
