Can anyone suggest a reward or award for community worker?

A local person does amazing work to let the local and wider community know about getting around - roads, schools etc, particularly when the weather is bad - as it so often is in these parts. I'd love for him to be recognised somehow. Can anyone suggest an award or something I could enter him for?

Thank you.

There are often local awards, I've just googled 'awards for volunteers' plus where I live and a few links have come up, plus I know there are others. Local paper or local radio might do something, for example.

Thanks very much, yes I'd found a few though several are for people who belong to an organisation which he doesn't. Good idea about local radio etc. Will check that out.

I don't want him to know I've nominated him though, maybe some let you be anonymous. Will keep looking.

  • A lovely thought Eliza :). I was thinking along the same lines as Mojisola as someone I know personally was recognised in this way.

Same for an ex-work colleague of my husband.

Try the website of your county Couuncil or District council under the Community heading. Ours regularly have campaigns asking local residents to nominate people for an award for the voluntary community services they perform.
