concert tickets worry

My boyfriend purchased 2 concert tickets 3 monts ago for £100, the seller had 100% good feedbacks and said he would send them asap as he get them.
We waited and checked his statut because we still have no news, the concert is for beginning december.
His statut appear as non ebay member anymore, we email him to ask him if he got some news about the tickets but he still didn't get back to us.
We payed by cheque so I think we cannot get any kind of insurrance in case we don't get them!
We have his adress where we sent the cheque (but who know if it is his adress?)
What do you think we shoud do?

If the seller is no longer registered that is a major worry. You could try using the address you sent the cheque to for a contact telephone number. I assume the cheque has been cashed?
Apart from that the only other option I think would be the police.
Had this seller suddenly received a lot of negatives before becoming non registered?0 -
the cheque is cashed, no negative comments on his profile.0

it could be as simple as he is behind in his ebay fee's however it is a major issue with buying tickets in advance.0

I'd send him a letter immediately by recorded delivery, enquiring about the status of your tickets, saying you are extremely concerned that he does not appear to be on ebay anymore. Provide your full contact details and ask for his. Ask for a response within 7 days. Keep copies of your letters.
If you hear nothing, send a stronger worded letter saying you have lost confidence in this transaction and require an immediate refund.
It does look a bit iffy. If the concert gets closer and there is still no contact from your seller, perhaps go to Citizen's advice and see if there is anything else you can do?0 -
If you have his Surname, you already have his address try bt.com directory enquiries, its worth a try.
you could also contact the ticket sales outlets to see when the tickets are/were being sent out to puchasers as they are often not sent until a short time b4 the concert.

You have no comeback at all through ebay as you used a cheque which is not a payment method now covered (only paypal is). You are also well out of time for any other sort of complaint anyway as ebay require sellers to be able to despatch goods within 30 days of auction end, so seller may have been suspended due to that infringement. This is also one time that paying by paypal would not have helped either due to the time frame.
Your only hope is to track down the seller using the address you have, but be prepared for the address to be merely a drop address where the owner says they don't know the person. Without a full name and address you can't even go to small claims, all you can do is try the police as a last resort.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Its actually against ebay rules to sell an item you wont be able to send within 30 days, its to prevent this kind of fraud.
