UKCPS - Worth sending the template in?

Read the FAQ and a lot of other threads but still require some help.
The owner of a vehicle in a friends household seems to have got a NTK from a certain location. It's a side street with a few businesses, including a Greggs. There is fencing down one side of the street and big signs from UKCPS saying not to park and about the fines, etc.
The friend parked on a road outside a Greggs and a passenger nipped out to quickly grab something and come back. The friend didn't notice the signage on the fences even though there is plenty of signs. On the NTK it said the fine is for 'parking in an area for emergency vehicles only'. This was not stated on any of the signage.
So can I still send the template reply?

as keeper I would wait for the NTK to arrive in the post if this was a windscreen ticket
then send in the IPC template as keeper
if its a postal NTK, use the template without waiting
but its a paper excercise only, dont expect a cancellation0 -
For completeness and to save duplication, this from the thread you posted on at first:G R A C E !!!
Have you read the IPC AoS Code of Practice on Grace??
15. Grace Periods
15.1 Drivers should be allowed a sufficient amount of time to park and read any signs so they may make an informed decision as to whether or not to remain on the site.
15.2 Drivers must be allowed a minimum period of 10 minutes to leave a site after a pre-paid or permitted period of parking has expired.
15.3 The reference to 10 minutes in 15.2 above shall not apply where the period of pre-paid or permitted parking does not exceed 1 hour providing that the signage on the site makes it clear to the motorist, in a prominent font, that no grace period applies on that land.
And my twopenn'orth when you asked what happened after someone got their inevitable rejection letter:Coupon-mad wrote: »Same as anyone else ignoring UKCPS after first appeal, I'd expect. Nothing, just daft letters.
Yes, send the template, it looks reasonable and marks you out as a person who has researched and consulted MSE, as opposed to a clueless victim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the quick help people.
Do I just send the template or do I need to add anything about that grace periods?0 -
No point - appeals are futile as you will have read in the FAQ & been advised here in your thread
Send it as is then ignore everything you get sent except court correspondence or a lbcca0 -
In the FAQ it says not to send the template if there is an online option available. UKCPS offers one but it asks all the name, details, email, etc of the appellant. I guess this is just the same as giving the name of the registered keeper?
Am I safer sending it via post or using the online option or are both options the same?0 -
as long as the driver is not divulged or hinted at and no option that identifies the driver is used then it does not matter
I thought that UKCPS only accept postal appeals anyway ?
if in doubt , use the post and get a free certificate of posting from the P O Counter (NOT signed for)0 -
Ahh - it does give you the option to select appellant type so I can choose registered keeper and give their details.
They give the online option too with all the pic evidence supplied and say they'll email a decision in 28 days etc. So maybe I'll just do it online.0 -
Wow, do UKCPS have an online appeal now, are you sure you have the right firm? They never used to.
Are you sure? This isn't UKPC is it?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry, just saw this. Definitely UKCPS.
So an update: got an email back today saying they are cancelling the notice as a gesture of goodwill. I was shocked to read that just now!0 -
Brilliant! Did you just send the 'IPC firms' template from the NEWBIES thread? Or did you add something about grace periods.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
